Subham first reviews: Netizens call Samantha Ruth Prabhu's debut production ‘wonderfully weird’; urge families to watch it together

Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s debut production venture ‘Subham’ is all set to hit theatres on May 9. Ahead of the release, the team hosted a premiere today (May 7), which has filled social media with numerous reviews. The initial reactions suggest that the movie handles the horror-comedy genre with great professionalism.

Directed by Praveen Kandregula and written by Vasanth Mariganti, the film explores the lives of three quirky couples living in the charming seaside town of Bhimilipuram. As the story unfolds, their otherwise routine lives are thrown into disarray by supernatural elements — and their wives’ unexpected behaviour after watching a mysterious TV show.



Actor Rahul Ravindran, a close friend of Samantha’s from the industry, was the first to share a review after attending the Hyderabad premiere. He posted on X (formerly Twitter):

Everyone seems to be praising the film as a must-watch with horror family entertainer. Earlier the trailer for the film was unveiled by the makers, which received good responses from the audiences, especially for Samantha's cameo role.

‘Subham’ features Harshith Reddy, Gavireddy Srinivas, Charan Peri, Shriya Kontham, Shravani Lakshmi, Shalini Kondepudi, and Vamshidhar Goud. Samantha also plays a role in the movie. On the other hand, Samantha was last seen in the TV series 'Citadel: Honey Bunny'.

Meanwhile, according to the latest reports from the Sacnilk website, the film has minted Rs 1.31 crores from India in 2 days.
