Stars shine at Nandi Awards ceremony

A whole lot of glamor and filmi drama marked the Nandi Awards night on Friday. But the ceremony which clubbed the awards for the years 2009 and 2010, had many of the industry biggies missing.
Hurried affair The event started quite late in typical Hyderabadi style. The big awards for veterans like NTR, Raghupathy Venkaiah, BN Reddy and Nagi Reddy Chakrapani were given by the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.And in an attempt to ensure that the CM stays back to give out all these awards, the short film that was made about each of the award winners was rushed through and even stopped midway when both the anchor and the movie���������s voiceover about the winner was booming at the same time, confusing everyone!
Glam dolls Tollywood���������s pretty ladies and award winners ��������� Genelia, Nithya Menen, Ramya Krishna and Vedika ��������� were all dressed in saris and cut a pretty picture.
Winners all The highlight of the event was filmmaker K Raghava, is celebrating his 100th birthday this year. The veteran filmmaker, during his speech, turned to actor Balakrishna and said, ���������I was the one who brought your father, the late NTR to Chennai.���������
Actor Manchu Manoj who received his first Nandi award came along with his mother. ���������I���������m the first ���������Nandi��������� in my family,��������� joked the actor. ���������Even though my father acted in more than 500 films, he hasn���������t received a Nandi yet. My mother has been waiting for the past 30 years for someone to bring home this award. It���������s important to her, hence she���������s here with me,��������� said Manchu Manoj.
