SS Rajamouli calls director Shankar the "OG of big-screen entertainment" at 'Game Changer' trailer launch

The 'RRR' and 'Baahubali' fame, ace director SS Rajamouli referred to director Shankar as the "OG of big-screen entertainment" during the trailer launch of his upcoming film 'Game Changer' starring Ram Charan.

Rajamouli praised Shankar for his visionary filmmaking and ability to create grand cinematic experiences. He said, "I don’t see Game Changer as Shankar Garu’s debut in Telugu because, for many of us, he is not a Tamil director, but a Telugu director. For many filmmakers who are now trying their wares in cinema, might see a lot of us doing these things. But for us, he is the OG - the original gangster, the director of big-screen entertainment. He is the inspiration for a lot of us filmmakers, who were only assistant directors then."

Rajamouli highlighted how Shankar's contributions have inspired many filmmakers, including himself as he further added, "He gave us the confidence that we could scale up our vision, and if we convincingly brought it on screen, the audience would turn up in droves to watch our films. He gave us that confidence."

At the trailer launch event, Rajamouli also spoke about Ram Charan and how he has grow as an actor, observing the remarkable transformation from his earlier work in 'Magadheera' to his more recent performances in 'RRR'. He expressed pride in Charan's growth and ability to connect emotionally with audiences.

'Game Changer' features Ram Charan in dual roles as a father and son, with Charan playing an IAS officer determined to combat corruption within the political system. Kiara Advani stars as his love interest, while SJ Suryah plays the corrupt Chief Minister opposing him. The cast also includes Anjali, Samuthirakani, Samuthirakani, Sunil, Brahmanandam, and Naveen Chandra in key roles.
