The sequel, 'Mathu Vadalara 2', hit theatres on September 13, 2024, and is performing well at the box office. Directed by Ritesh Rana, this comedy action thriller brings back fan favourites Sri Simha Koduri and Satya, who reprise their roles from the original 2019 film.With its theatrical release as the films receive a second life on OTT, this film has also acquired its OTT rights. As per a report by OTTPlay, 'Mathu Vadalara 2' has secured its online streaming rights for a substantial sum, with the digital streaming giant Netflix set to stream the film in the second week of October 2024. Early reports indicate that the film has had a strong opening, with estimates suggesting it earned around Rs 2.15 crore on its first day in India as per trade analyst Sacnilk. Additionally, the film has performed exceptionally well overseas, grossing over $125,000 in the USA alone during its premiere shows.'Mathu Vadalara 2' follows the story of two special agents who find themselves entangled in a murder case. Their journey takes a twist when they join a specialized unit known as the HE Team (High Emergency Team), led by Rohini Molleti.The film has an engaging storyline filled with humour and unexpected turns. Fans have highly praised the duo for the comical show in the film.The film features a talented cast, including Vennela Kishore and Faria Abdullah, who are also part of the HE Team. The teaser has introduced several key characters. The music, composed by Kala Bhairva.
