Spy’ Box-office collections Day 1: Despite mixed reviews, Nikhil's film registers his career-best opening on its opening day!

Despite ‘Spy’ being a distant subject to Telugu people, there are several Telugu films made on the same lately. Very recently we had Akhil’s ‘Agent’, before that Nagarjuna’s ‘The Ghost’ biting the dust at the box office, and there are a couple of other spy films in the making now.

However, Garry BH, K Rajasekhar Reddy and Nikhil’s Pan-India film have opened to mixed reviews both from audiences and critics alike.

However, the pre-release positive buzz for Nikhil’s that carry forward from ‘Karthikeya2’ success reportedly helped the movie to collect Rs 11.7 crores (gross) on its opening day. The film is said to have needed Rs 12 crore more shares to reach the break-even mark. But the major multi-plex chain of theatres has not screened ‘Spy’s Hindi version of the film due to strict OTT release policies.

As the film was released on Thursday and there is a long weekend up the film is expected to mint the needed figures in the meantime.

‘Spy’ is an action thriller film by Garry BH in his directional debut with the story by K.Rajasekhar Reddy who also happens to be the producer of the film.

The film starred Nikhil Siddhartha, Iswarya Menon, Abhinav Gomatam, Aryan Rajesh, Ravi Varma, and Sachin Khedekar playing important roles was shot by a bunch of cinematographers (Vamsi Patchipulusu, Mark David, Julian Amaru Estrada, Keiko Nakahara). The film has its soundtrack and music composed by Vishal Chandrasekhara and Sri Charan Pakala was edited by the director himself.
