Remaking Telugu hit films has become a trend in Kollywood and has emerged as the easiest way to be successful at the ticket window. Silambarasan, also known as Simbu has always been interested in Telugu films’ scripts and his respective box-office success is ample proof.
For Simbu, remaking Telugu films is not new. The actor had starred in the remake of ‘Vedam’ and ‘Idiot’ so far and now he has been roped to reprise the role of Power star
Pawan Kalyan in the Tamil remake of ‘Atharintiki Daaredi’ which was originally directed by
Trivikram Srinivas.
Kushboo will be seen essaying the role of the actor’s aunt which was originally played by
Nadhiya. The yet-untitled film will be directed by Sundar C and bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
The producers of Lyca Productions have bought the remake rights of the 2013 film which was loved by the audience. Hence, the film is being remade in Tamil with Simbu. ‘Atharintiki Daaredi’ has already been dubbed into Bengali as ‘Abhimaan’ in 2016 and Kannada as ‘Ranna’ (2015). Director Sunder C was supposed to helm the big budget film ‘Sanghamitra’, but due to technical issues he is now directing the Tamil remake of ‘Atharintiki Daaredi’.
