Shriya Sharma has been cast as the leading lady. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the same. Shriya is widely known for her performance in the romantic-drama ‘Sillunu Oru Kadhal’.
Titled ‘Varma’ in Tamil, the film will see Dhruv reprising Vijay Deverakonda’s role. Produced by E 4 Entertainment, the film will have dialogues by National Award-winning director Raju Murugan. Recently, the makers shot an important sequence in Chennai. Bala will reportedly start filming the college portions once the makers finalise the leading lady. If reports are to be believed, the film is expected to release by the end of this year.
A remake of the Telugu blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’, the film is about a medical surgeon (played by Vijay Deverakonda) who falls for his college junior (played by Shalini Pandey). He turns to alcohol post-break-up and his road to redemption forms the crux of the film.
