The digital release of 'Shaakuntalam' was officially announced on social media, one month after its theatrical release. The epic will be available for streaming on a popular OTT platform. Starting from May 11, audiences can enjoy Shaakuntalam from the comfort of their homes. The film is accessible in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan star in 'Shaakuntalam,' directed by Gunasekhar. Unfortunately, the movie had a disappointing performance at the worldwide box office. Despite Samantha's lauded portrayal, it turned out to be the biggest commercial failure in her career. Dil Raju, the film's producer, expressed his disappointment, calling Shaakuntalam's commercial failure "the biggest jerk" in his 25-year-long career.

'Shaakuntalam' is a whimsical tale of love based on the internationally acclaimed Sanskrit play "Abhijnana Shakuntalam" by Kalidasa. Notably, the film marks the acting debut of Allu Arjun's daughter, Arha, who portrays the role of Prince Bharata. Additionally, 'Shaakuntalam' features a talented ensemble cast, including Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Jisshu Sengupta, among others, in supporting roles.
