Senior Telugu editor Gautam Raju, who had worked on more than 800 films passed away on Tuesday. He was 68 and was reportedly undergoing Kidney related treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad for the past few days. His health deteriorated at midnight and he breathed his last breath. He was the man and reason behind several Superhit blockbusters in Telugu cinema.

Music director MM. Keeravani took to his social media and broke the sad news. He wrote.” Saddened by the premature exit of Gouthamraju Garu. Happened to work with him for ‘Dhammu’. Huge respect for his humility and talent”.


Editor Gautam Raju was working as a film editor for over 40years now and had edited over 800 feature films. He debuted as an editor with ‘Chattaniki Kallulevu’ and won the Nandi award for best editing for JrNTR’s ‘Aadi’, besides working for some classic Telugu hits such as Nalugu Stambta (1982). He also worked on other language movies as well.

Telugu film industry is in deep shock with the demise of Editor Gautham Raju, His last rights will be held today.

Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Acharya' is an action drama film written and directed by Koratala Siva. The film was produced by Ram Charan under his home banner the 'Konidela Production Company' along with Matinee Entertainments. Chiranjeevi played the titular role in the film alongside Ram Charan and Pooja Hegde but it has to bite the dust upon its release. The film despite having multiple stars and crazy combinations failed to impress the audiences and was a disaster at the box office.

Radhe Shyam (2022)

The above period romantic drama written and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles tried to tell the story of a palmist and his love life with Prerana. There was a huge hype surrounding his movie across the nation, but it couldn’t repeat the magic of SS. Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ at the box office has ended up in losses.

Director Ramesh Varma who was high on the success of his ‘Rakshasudu’ Bellamkonda Srinivas, tried this film with Ravi Teja, Arjun Sarja and Unni Mukundan but the film received mixed to negative reviews and was also underperformed at the Tollywood box office. The film was dubbed and released in Hindi but of no use. The film made with a whopping budget of Rs 60 crores failed to mint the required figure at the box office.

'Good Luck Sakhi' is a 2022 sports comedy film written and directed by successful filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor. The film starred Keerthy Suresh, Aadhi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu in the prominent roles but it failed to impress the audience despite being made by a maverick director, due to the lack of strong characterizations and gripping narration. The film was also the Telugu debut of director Kukunoor after being a director for several years in Bollywood.

Indian Telugu action drama film ‘The Son of India’ written and directed by Diamond Ratnababu starring seniors such as Manchu Mohan Babu and Meena in the lead roles was a disaster at the box office. The film turned up to several trolls and memes due to its amateurish content & narration with an outdated story.

This Telugu sports drama film written and directed by Kiran Korrapati starring Varun Tej and Saiee Manrekar in the lead roles ended up as a year's disaster upon its release.
