It’s already evident that the Tamil remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’ directed by maverick filmmaker Bala has been

scrapped

due to various reasons. Production house E4 Entertainment formally announced that they have decided to not release the film after watching the first copy. Crediting creative differences as the reason, they will shoot a new version of ‘Arjun Reddy’ with Dhruv as the main lead by staying true to the soul and intention of the original.

It’s widely speculated that the director of the original Sandeep Reddy Vanga has been approached by the makers. Busy with his Bollywood remake ‘Kabir Singh’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, the 37-year-old filmmaker is said to have recommended his associate director

Giri Sayya

for the film. The young debutante has worked as an

for Arjun Reddy.
While the director’s name is yet to be officially announced, ‘October’ fame Banita Sandhu has been finalised as the leading lady opposite Vikram’s son Dhruv. She has replaced Megha Chowdhury who is the heroine in the first version.

Meanwhile, Kollywood fans are considering this scrapped act as an insult to the immensely-talented Bala.
