Taking over the internet the last few days is the Indian documentary series called

Indian Matchmaking

and not for the reason you think.

Memers

are having a field day, making

memes

of the various people featured in the show, but especially Sima ‘aunty’ aka matchmaker Sima Taparia who rushes across the world to find the perfect spouse for her clients. Memes of how she thinks women should adjust, compromise or more keep making rounds and the latest to join in the revelry is Sameera Reddy with her hilarious

mother-in-law

edition of the show.

Messy

Mama, aka Sameera Reddy and

Sassy

Saasu aka her mother-in-law

Manjri Varde

come together for the

video

captioned, “Asli life partner toh Mother in law hoti hai. this is how I found my Sassy Saasu! The perfect match @manjrivarde #indianmatchmaking #motherinlaw edition #messymama #sassysaasu #saasbahu #comedy #famjam #imperfectlyperfect #keepingitreal @netflix_in Indian Matchmaking #spoof,” (sic)

In the video, Sameera Reddy says, “Sima ji first you find me the mother-in-law, she is the asli life partner no. Jotish, palm-reader, face-reader, kuch bhi kar lo, mother-in-law toh sahi chahiye mujhe. Preferences, nai nai, requirement to hai. I mean looks for me is everything. She should be at least six feet tall. Definitely traditional dress, no tattoos, no scarf, no boots and of course, always listening to bhajan and me of course.” And Sassy Saasu’s only requirement is that her mind is stable, even as Sameera Reddy laughs along.

The fact that Sameera juxtaposed the video with actual footage from the documentary and hilariously brought in her mother-in-law seemed to have won hearts. The video sees lots of supportive comments from fans who laughed along.
