Samantha's 'Shaakuntalam': Makers to kickstart promotions soon

Starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, 'Shaakuntalam' is one of the much-awaited films in which the actress plays a never before seen character. The release date of the movie has not been finalized yet, however, the promotions are set to begin soon. Director Gunasekhar took to his Twitter and announced that they will start promotions in full swing soon.

Starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, 'Shaakuntalam' is one of the much-awaited films in which the actress plays a never before seen character. The release date of the movie has not been finalized yet, however, the promotions are set to begin soon.
Director Gunasekhar took to his Twitter and announced that they will start promotions in full swing soon. He tweeted, "As promised, before manifesting the spectacle of Narasimha avatar on the silver screen in 'Hiranyakshyapa' which would be presented with some exciting collaborations on a massive scale, I set out to present to you a whimsical tale of love, 'Shaakuntalam' from the Adi Parva of the Mahabharata.

Now, as it gets its final touches, looking forward to meet you all at the promotions soon! - Gunasekhar (sic)."

Bankrolled by Gunaa Teamworks, the film went on to the floors in March last year and wrapped up its shoot in August 2021. It has been carrying a great ever since its inception. 'Shaakuntalam', which is based on the popular play 'Shakuntala' by Kalidasa, has Samantha playing the titular role and Dev Mohan playing Dushyanta. Apart from Samantha and Dev Mohan, the movie also features Mohan Babu as Durvasa Maharishi, Aditi Balan as Anasuya, Ananya Nagalla as Priyamvada, Prakash Raj as Kanva Rishi, Gautami as Gautamil, Madhoo as Menaka, Kabir Duhan Singh as King Asura and Allu Arha as Prince Bharata.
While 'Shaakuntalam' is in the post-production stage, Samantha has various other films in different stages of production. Of this, 'Kushi' is nearing completion, and 'Yashoda' is waiting for release. The technical crew of 'Shaakuntalam' includes art director Ashok Kolarath, Mani Sharma for scoring music and Prawin Pudi doing the editing.
