Samantha Ruth Prabhu's upcoming release 'Shaakuntalam' will soon open in cinemas. The makers of the film dropped a new poster and revealed the trailer release date. The pan-India multilingual film's trailer will be unveiled on January 9. The Samantha-starrer will open in cinemas on February 27, 2023.
'Shaakuntalam' is a mythological drama that features Sam in the role of titular role. The official Twitter handle of Gunaa Teamworks shared a poster of Shaakuntalam, announcing the release of its trailer.

Based on a popular play Shakuntala by Kalidasa, the film features Samantha in the titular role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru Dynasty, along with Mohan Babu, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in significant roles. Written and directed by Gunasekhar, the technical crew also includes Mani Sharma as the music director, Sekhar V. Joseph as the Director of Photography, and Prawin Pudi as the editor.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who impressed everyone with her performance in 'Yashoda', has an interesting slate of projects including 'Shaakuntalam' and 'Kushi' with Vijay Deverakonda, besides 'Citadel'.
