There is a growing buzz on social media that the release of the movie 'Shaakuntalam' could be pushed forward from its earlier release date, February 17. This follows a few media reports, which said Shaakuntalam's release could clash with Kartik Aaryan’s 'Shehzada' and the unprecedented success of Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Pathaan'. The official announcement regarding the change in the film's release date will be out soon.

'Shehzada', featuring actors Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles, was initially scheduled to hit the theatres on February 10, 2023. It will now hit the theatres on February 17. The exact date of its release is still under wraps. Makers of the film may release an official statement in this regard this week.

'Shaakuntalam' is one of Telugu cinema’s most anticipated films. Directed by Gunasekhar, the movie will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi concurrently. The film also features Dev Mohan, Mohan Babu, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Prakash Raj, Gautami as Gautamil, Madhoo, Jisshu Sengupta, Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Kabir Duhan Singh, Allu Arha and Varshini Sounderajan. The technical crew includes Sekhar V. Joseph for cinematography, Prawin Pudi for editing and Ashok for art direction. Mani Sharma has been roped in to compose music for this flick.
