Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s back after 2 years with Nandini Reddy at the helm

Two years after she last headlined a Telugu film, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is back. The actor, who was last seen in a lead role opposite Vijay Deverakonda in Kushi (2023), has begun shooting for Maa Inti Bangaram in Hyderabad. The film marks her third collaboration with director Nandini Reddy, following Oh! Baby and Jabardasth.After taking a break from acting in 2022 due to an autoimmune condition, myositis, the actress returned to screens with the spy-action series Citadel: Honey Bunny, directed by Raj & DK, in November 2024. This film marks her return to the big screen in a full-fledged lead role. According to the makers, the shoot for Maa Inti Bangaram commenced on October 22 and is progressing at a brisk pace. “I’m excited about this film and about teaming up with Samantha for the third time in a completely different genre. This story, I believe, will do full justice to her star power and it is always a joy to collaborate with Sam,” Nandini told Hyderabad Times. Samantha was last seen in a cameo appearance earlier this year in the Telugu horror-comedy Shubham.- Divya Shree
