Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently surprised and delighted students at Sathyabama University in Chennai by dancing to her hit song, "Dippam Dappam," from the film 'Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal'. A video of her performance has since gone viral on social media.
The actress was invited as the chief guest of the event. Known for generally refraining from dancing at public events, Samantha made an exception this time. For the college event, Samantha wore a white gown with a blue ombre skirt.
Recently the 'Kushi' actress also shared a photo of herself on Instagram from a recent photoshoot, quoting Selena Gomez's lyrics. She wrote, "If I lose my shit, promise not to laugh. If I throw a fit and get photographed. Would you take my side? Would you hold my hand? If they sell a lie, don’t let ‘em send me back. #lyricsforlife #SelenaGomez".
Beyond her acting career, Samantha is also the owner of the Chennai Super Champs in the World Pickleball League (WPBL). In January 2025, she unveiled the team's yellow-and-red jersey at Sathyabama University, announcing the university as the team's principal partner. Samantha expressed her pride in bringing the spirit of Chennai to the global pickleball stage.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu has several projects lined up after her recent health hiatus. She was last seen in the web series, 'Citadel: Honey Bunny' co-starring with Varun Dhawan. The series was well received by the audience.
Up next she is also working on 'Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom' which is a mega action-fantasy series directed by Raj & RK. Samantha will star alongside Aditya Roy Kapur, Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi.
Her other project also marks Samantha's debut as a producer under her banner, Tralala Moving Pictures. The film is expected to be released in 2025. The title announcement featured a fierce look of Samantha, generating excitement among her fans. Some reports refer to the movie as 'Maa Inti Bangaram'.
