Salman Khan to headline Vamshi Paidipally’s Bollywood debut

Salman Khan is set to collaborate with director Vamshi Paidipally for an upcoming action-drama slated to go on floors this April. Announced Monday, the project marks the National Award-winning filmmaker’s first foray into Hindi cinema. Paidipally, known for his emotional storytelling, is pivoting toward a grittier tone. “Oopiri was about companionship, Maharshi explored aspirations, and Vaarisu dealt with the complexities of family,” he says. “This time, the core leans more towards action, though it remains rooted in an emotional connection audiences can relate to.” Crucially, Paidipally clarifies that the film is a “completely original script,” not a remake. He also put to rest rumors about a Telugu debut for the superstar. “This is conceived as a full-fledged Hindi film. While it may be dubbed into other languages, Hindi cinema has always had a pan-India reach,” he explains.
