The character of Vennela essayed by Sai Pallavi is based on a woman named Sarala. The filmmakers of 'Virata Parvam' claim that Sarala, a real-life character, served as the model for the character of Vennela. Ahead of the film’s release, Sai Pallavi and the 'Virata Parvam' crew recently met Sarala's family in Warangal. They all spent time with Sarala's family. Sarala's mother had reportedly presented a saree to Sai Pallavi.

Venu Udugula, the director of 'Virata Parvam', said at one of the film's promotional events that the heroine is the focus of the plot and mainly ladies should watch this film. The film was shot in picturesque locations at Dharipally, Parkal, in the forests of Kerala and in the forests of Vikarabad and Warangal by cinematographers Dani Sanchez-Lopez and Divakar Mani.
