has been taken off the ventilator and is responding positively to treatment. While there has been no official update from the hospital since, the actor’s uncle
Pawan Kalyan let it out on Saturday that Sai Dharam Tej is still lying in a coma and is yet to regain consciousness.
While speaking at an event on Saturday,
Pawan Kalyan said, “Tej hasn’t opened his eyes for weeks and is still lying in coma. Till today I haven’t seen him open his eyes...he remains unconscious.”
Pawan’s revelation comes just a day after Tej’s cousin
Ram Charan said that the actor was “doing perfectly fine” and was on the road to recovery. Actor
Chiranjeevi too had said at a recent event that the Supreme star was recovering well. However, with no message yet from Sai Dharam Tej since the night of his accident, Pawan’s statement has sent alarm bells ringing among his fans.
According to hospital sources however, Sai Dharam Tej’s condition is stable. “He’s not in a coma; he is responding to commands. All his vital parameters and organs are stable and he’s responding to treatment. He will take time to fully recover,” said a source from the hospital.
Sai Dharam Tej was involved in a road accident on September 10, in which he sustained a collar bone fracture and other soft tissue injuries. The actor has since been undergoing treatment at the hospital.
