Sai Dharam Tej hospitalised after sustaining injuries in road accident: A timeline of events so far

Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations turned sour for Sai Dharam Tej as the actor met with an accident and suffered minor injuries on Friday night. Sai Dharam Tej was riding his bike near the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge and lost control of the vehicle as it skid at high speed. The actor was rushed to a nearby hospital in Madhapur in an unconscious state and was later shifted to a corporate hospital in Jubilee Hills. Hospital authorities have confirmed that the Supreme star has not suffered any injuries to his head, spine or major organs and that surgical intervention will not be required. However, the actor has suffered a collar bone fracture and other soft tissue injuries.In a statement issued on Saturday morning, hospital authorities said, “Sai Dharam Tej is stable and all major organs are functioning well. He will continue to be on assisted respiration in ICU for controlled close monitoring and additional investigation will be performed during the day."Sai Dharam Tej is safe, urge fans not to panic: FamilyAs soon as Sai Dharam Tej was taken to a hospital in an unconscious state, his family members, including uncles Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Allu Aravind, brother Vaishnav Tej and cousins Ram Charan, Varun Tej, Niharika Konidela rushed to the hospital to check on him. Friends like Sundeep Kishan, Vishnu Manchu, Lakshmi Manchu and well-wishers like Prakash Raj, Srikanth and Jaya Prada also went to meet him. Hundreds of concerned fans gathered outside the hospital premises late on Friday and demanded to know about the actor’s condition. Taking to social media, Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi, maternal uncle of Sai Dharam Tej, said, “@IamSaiDharamTej met with an accident few hours ago & has suffered minor injuries & bruises. Wish to share with All Fans & Well Wishers that There is absolutely NO cause for Concern or Anxiety. He is recovering under expert medical supervision & shall be back in a couple of days (sic).”Producer Allu Aravind also tried to pacify the hundreds of worried fans who had gathered at the hospital in the early hours of Saturday. “Sai Dharam Tej is currently safe and I have spoken to the doctors about his condition. There are no head or spinal injuries and his condition is stable. We will soon be able to talk to him once he is shifted out of the ICU. I will give a further update once I speak to him but I request everybody not to panic at this stage,” he said.Sai Dharam Tej booked for rash and negligent driving: PoliceAfter examining the CCTV footage of the accident, cops have booked the actor for rash driving. Speaking to Hyderabad Times, CH Raghunandan Rao, ACP, Madhapur, said, “A police case was registered on Sai Dharam Tej at Raidurg Police Station under Section 279 and 336 of IPC for rash driving and endangering human life and personal safety of others. Another case was also registered against the actor under 186 Motor Vehicle Act.”Cops said that the actor was lucky to escape with minor injuries since he was wearing a helmet. “He was driving alone on his superbike, with his team following him in a car. Thankfully, he was wearing a helmet and that prevented him from suffering serious injuries. His team immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital after the incident,” Rao added.
