The first half of 2022 is over. Welcome to the second half of 2022! Many movies were released in these six months. The first six months of the year 2022, has been quite good for Bollywood as most of the biggies did quite well at the box office. However, we cannot forget that a few films that were expected to break records at the box office failed to make a mark. RRR

Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles in SS Rajamouli's recent outing 'RRR' attracted millions of viewers worldwide and earned more than Rs 1100 crores at the box office. Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Ajay Devgn, and others have significant roles in the SS Rajamouli directed-film. RRR, which was released on March 25, has been on screens everywhere for 100 days. The DVV Danayya-produced movie is still on the rampage, inviting excellent reviews from all over the world.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata

'Sarkaru Vaari Paata', starring Mahesh Babu and Keerthy Suresh, was released in theatres on May 12, and was a blockbuster hit. The Parasuram Petla directorial wowed audiences and has garnered over Rs 200 crore at the global box office. With such whopping collections at the box office, the movie stood as one of the biggest blockbusters for Mahesh Babu and his team. This super hit film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, GMB Entertainment, and 14 Reels Plus, also stars Nadiya, Samuthirakani, Naga Babu, Vennela Kishore, Subbaraju, Brahmaji, and others.

Bheemla Nayak

With Power star Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati in the lead roles, 'Bheemla Nayak' was released in the theatres on February 25. Directed by Saagar K Chandra, the remake of the Malayalam movie, 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum' managed to collect around Rs 190 crore at the worldwide box office. The film is about its title character played by Pawan Kalyan, a gutsy sub-inspector who locks horns with Daniel Sekhar (Rana Daggubati), a rich brat forever on the wrong side of the law. The resultant clash of egos manages to draw the families of the two antagonists.

Major

'Major', starring Adivi Sesh in the titular role is based on the life journey of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who attained martyrdom during India's darkest terror attack 26/11. Written by the actor himself the film was released on June 3 and has grossed over Rs 60 crore worldwide. The film is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and it is also featuring Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murali Sharma. It was jointly bankrolled by Sony Pictures International Productions, G Mahesh Babu Entertainment and A+S Movies.

DJ Tillu

'DJ Tillu', which was released on February 12, is the biggest surprise of the year. Starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Neha Shetty, the film registered great theatrical revenues, with super good reviews from the centres. Directed by debutant Vimal Krishna, the film has collected Rs. 30 crores at the global box office. Siddhu’s flawless action, gripping screenplay, and comedy worked in the favour of the movie, which also features Neha Shetty, Prince Cecil, Brahmaji, Fish Venkat and other notable actors.

Bangarraju

'Bangarraju', directed by Kalyan Krishna Kurasala, was released earlier during the Sankranti season in Telugu, creating much buzz at the theatres. The fantasy-themed movie turned out to be a great hit, as it has all the aspects of entertainment in it. The father-son -- Naga Chaitanya and Nagarjuna – starrer collected Rs 63 crore in total at the end of its theatrical run. 'Bangarraju', the sequel of Nagarjuna's super hit movie 'Soggade Chinni Nayana', marked the second collaboration of Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya after the Telugu classic movie 'Manam'.
