Kodi Ramakrishna, a successful director of Tollywood, died Friday afternoon from complications of chronic kidney disease. The director had been suffering from kidney-related ailments for quite some time. He was reportedly admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad on Thursday. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Ramakrishna made his name in the showbiz world by helming numerous blockbuster films in Tollywood. He started his career with the family drama ‘Intlo Ramayya Veedhilo Krishnayya’ in 1982. Some of his blockbuster films, including 'Gudachari No.1' (1983), 'Mangamma Gari Manavadu' (1984), 'Muddula Krishnaiah' (1986), 'Muvva Gopaludu' (1987), 'Srinivasa Kalyanam' (1987), 'Station Master' (1988), '20va Shatabdam' (1990), 'Sathruvu' (1991), 'Ammoru' (1995), 'Pelli Pandiri' (1997), 'Devi' (1999) and 'Arundhati' (2009).
