The much-awaited multi-starrer Nishabdham, directed by Hemanth Madhukar and produced-written by
Kona Venkat will finally hit OTT on October 2.
The film’s team had already revealed a few details about the film’s central characters – a deaf and mute artist called Sakshi, played by
Anushka Shetty, a celebrated musician called Anthony, played by R Madhavan, apart from
Shalini Pandey as Sonali, ‘voice of Sakshi’,
Subbaraju as Vivek, a wildlife photographer, Anjali and
Michael Madsen as cops from Seattle PD and Srinivasa Avasarala in a key role.
However, right before the film’s release, the story of the much-awaited thriller has now been revealed.
Nishabdham will revolve around a police investigation and a supposedly haunted villa. Sakshi witnesses a tragic incident and finds herself embroiled in a police investigation. With the list of suspects ranging from a ghost to a missing young girl, the film’s team promises it will keep the audience guessing till the very end.
Talking about the film Anushka says, “My character Sakshi is unlike anything I have done before. It’s a character that pushed me out of my comfort zone. I thank the whole cast and crew of the film and I am glad to have been a part of this project.” Madhavan chips in, “I enjoy watching and being a part of thriller films. Nishabdham is one of the most intriguing films I’ve been a part of.”
Set in the US, the film was shot in Seattle and other parts of USA. It will stream digitally in Telugu as Nishabdham, and in Tamil and Malayalm as Silence.
Hemant Madhukar reveals that the film was shot parallel in both Telugu and Tamil. “Since we announced the project, hopes have been high. We have been waiting for the right opportunity to bring this to the audience as it has some of the best Indian talent featuring in it, apart from an ambitious story-line,” he states, rounding off.
