Radikaa Sarathkumar has met legendary director
K Viswanath
in Hyderabad on Friday and recollected their association which brings back a couple of path-breaking films namely ‘
Swati Mutyam
’ (1985) and ‘
Swathi Kiranam
’ (1992). Sharing old pictures of herself and the veteran filmmaker in the form of a collage, the 58-year-old actress wrote on her Twitter handle “#kvishwanath had the pleasure of visiting him today in Hyderabad #swatimuthyam #swathikiranam , memorable moments, memorable films and characters and so much to learn from this legend.”
Radikaa ruled Telugu cinema in the 80s by starring in several blockbuster films like Nyayam Kavali, Abhilasha, Donga Mogudu, Aradhana and others. After turning into a character artist, she played pivotal roles in Suryavamsam, Prema Katha and Vamsoddharakudu. After a long hiatus, she made her comeback to Tollywood by essaying the role of Ravi Teja’s mother in Anil Ravipudi’s Raja The Great. Despite busy with her TV show, she is an active member of her husband Sarathkumar’s party named Samathuva Makkal Katchi (SMK).
Recipient of five national awards and six state Nandi awards, Viswanath has directed over 50 films in an illustrious career spanning for over five decades. The last directorial of the 90-year-old was ‘Subapradam’ starring Allari Naresh and Manjari Phadnis.
