Sobhan Babu was born January 14, 1937, in Chinna Nandigama, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. The actor was known as

Nata Bhushana

with his highly versatile roles in films. He made his acting debut with 1960 film ‘Bhakta Sabari’ and went on to star in more than 200 films. He had entertained us with films like

Devatha

, Soggadu, Gorintaku, Jeevana Tarangalu, Manchi Manushulu, Karthika Deepam, Jeevana Jyothi, Jeevana Poratam, and many more to his credit. He holds a special place in everyone’s heart.

For his exemplary works in films, he had been awarded Nandi for Best Actor five times and Filmfare Award South four times. Cinema was his ultimate love, and his zeal for life and charm was inimitable. His graceful performances and expressive acting style had won millions of hearts apart from delivering some of the biggest hits in the industry.

Sobhan Babu, 71, breathed his last on March 20, 2008, in Chennai at his home.
