The theatrical trailer of
Ram Pothineni’s upcoming film
RED
has been unveiled on Thursday to a roaring response from netizens. Featuring the 32-year-old ‘Energetic Star’ in dual roles that are constantly in loggerheads with each other, the action-thriller is the remake of Tamil superhit film ‘
Thadam
’ which starred Arun Vijay and Tanya Hope in lead roles. The trailer begins with a romantic encounter between
Ram
(Siddharth) and Malvika Sharma, and just when things are going good for the former, enters the second Ram (Aditya) in a rugged and bearded look.
What follows from then on is a thrilling ride as Siddharth gets falsely convicted for murder and Aditya repeatedly showcases his hatred towards him. Loaded with whodunit moments, suspense, action, romance and engaging narration, the promo promises RED to be a taut thriller and murder mystery that will keep you guessing till the end. Starring
Nivetha Pethuraj, Malvika Sharma and
Amritha Aiyer as the leading ladies, the film is directed by
Kishore Tirumala and bankrolled by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore. While Peter Hein has choreographed the stunts, Mani Sharma has composed the music and Sameer Reddy handled the camera.
Initially scheduled to hit the big screens in April, the action-thriller got postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown. Despite receiving good offers from OTT platforms, the makers were hell-bent for a theatrical release and finally, with theaters opening all across the country, the film is gearing up for a Sankranthi release.
While the first look posters and the teaser of RED managed to hit the bull’s eye with the riveting theme, the special number ‘Dinchak’ starring
Hebah Patel worked well with the masses. Red features an ensemble supporting cast with actors like Sonia Agarwal, Vennela Kishore, Sampath Raj, Charandeep, Posani Krishna Murali and Nassar on board.
