‘RC17’: SS Rajamouli says opening scene of Ram Charan-Sukumar film will make audience ‘quiver in their seats’

Ram Charan and Sukumar duo will be working together again in the upcoming film tentatively named ‘RC17.’ Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who is currently shooting his magnum opus ‘Varanasi’, recently teased about the opening scene of the project, calling it “hard-hitting”. As per a report by News18, the ‘RRR’ director shared that he knows what the opening shot would look like. He shared that Ram Charan narrated it to him and SS Rajamouli believes that it will make the audience “quiver in their seats”. He also joked that revealing the opening would give Sukumar a heart attack. He said, “I have a spoiler there. I know the opening sequence of Sukumar’s and Charan’s film. Obviously, I am not going to reveal it, Sukumar is going to have a heart attack. But that would be one of the hardest-hitting openings; the audience will quiver in their seats when they see the opening sequence of Sukumar’s and Charan’s film.”This is not the first time Rajamouli has spoken about this project. During the promotions of ‘RRR’ in 2022, he had hinted at the potential of a Ram Charan–Sukumar collaboration. At that time, the project was not officially announced. While speaking with Pinkvilla, SS Rajamouli teased the project, and during that time as well, he described the opening as “hard-hitting.” Ram Charan and Sukumar are set to begin filming the project in July 2026. Currently, Ram Charan is working on his upcoming sports drama movie, ‘Peddi’, directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film is in the production phase and it will be released on March 27, 2026. After it Ram Charan will join Sukumar as ‘RC17’ is in the pre-production phase.Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli is working with Superstar Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithiviraj Sukumaran in the upcoming film ‘Varanasi’, which is set to release in the summer of 2027.
