The much-anticipated
Ravi Teja's 'Mr Bachchan' directed by
Harish Shankar created a significant buzz before its theatrical release on August 15, 2024. Fans were excited, and expectations ran high for the film, but despite the efforts of the entire team, the movie failed to perform well at the box office. While the film didn't meet expectations in theatres, it is now gearing up for its online debut, hoping for a second life on the OTT.
The makers of 'Mr Bachchan' have confirmed that the film will be released on Netflix, with the streaming date set for September 12, 2024. The film will be available in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
On the social media post, the online streaming giant sharing a poster of the film, wrote, "Sarihaddhu ni kaapade sainikuduni choosuntaru, sampadha ni kaapade sainikuduni ippudu choostharu. #MrBachchan is coming to Netflix on 12 September in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada!"
'Mr Bachchan' is the Telugu remake of the popular Hindi 2018 film 'Raid', which starred Ajay Devgn in the lead. The film is inspired by the real-life income tax raid on Indian industrialist Sardar Inder Singh.
Despite the compelling storyline and Ravi Teja's mass appeal, the movie struggled to capture the attention of moviegoers in theatres. Ravi Teja and director Harish Shankar returned a portion of their fees for the project. According to reports by Indiaglitz, the two returned 16% of their remuneration as a gesture of goodwill, acknowledging the film’s underperformance. This decision has earned them appreciation from both fans and netizens, who praised the duo for it.
The film cast includes prominent names like Jagapathi Babu, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Satya, Sachin Khedekar, and Bhagyashri Borshe, who made her Tollywood debut in this film.
