Rana Daggubati transformed himself for his next titled ‘

Aranya

’, which will hit screens as ‘

Haathi Mere Saathi

’ in

Hindi

.

The actor seems to have gotten into the skin of the character, if his shaggy hair and beard, broad shoulders and skinny frame are anything to go by. The film was apparently shot across two different countries and four different forests, in Kerala, Mahabaleshwar, Mumbai and Thailand. The tri-lingual took 250 days to shoot and involved at least 145 cast and crew members.

The stunning teaser of the film released recently, in which Rana Daggubati introduces himself as Bandev, someone who will stand guard for the wildlife. So, his buddies naturally happen to be a herd of sixteen intelligent elephants who respond to Bandev’s calls and whistles. The focal elephant Unnikrishnan however heads the show.

Said to be based on a ‘true story’ of a man who fought for the jungle and animals against society, ‘Aranya’, directed by Prabhu Solomon will hit screens on April 2. Pulkit Samrat is Rana’s co-star in the Hindi version, while Vishnu Vishal features in the

Tamil

(

Kaandan

) and

Telugu

versions of the film. Shriya Pilgaonkar and Zoya Hussain also star in all three versions.
