If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, a biopic on the late actor Soban Babu is on the cards. As per a leading web platform report, a popular Tollywood filmmaker has initiated talks with the family of Soban Babu to get their nod on the biopic. Reportedly,
Rana Daggubati has been approached to play the titular character and if everything goes as per plan, he might give his nod soon.
The makers of the project are yet to make any official announcement. Rumours are rife that an announcement can be expected to be made early next year.
Born on January 14, 1937, Soban Babu made his acting debut with the 1959 film Daiva Balam and went on to star in many memorable films over a span of thirty-five years. In his prime, he worked with all the leading filmmakers EVV Satyanarayana, K Raghavendra Rao, Paruchuri Brothers, Ravi Raja Pinisetty, Relangi Narasimha Rao, Kodi Ramakrishna and others. The actor passed away at the age of 71 due to a heart attack.
Rana Daggubati currently has a few projects in his kitty. Rana is awaiting the release of Prabhu Solomon's Aranya. The trilingual project also stars Vishnu Vishal, Pulkit Samrat, Zoya Hussain, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Paras Arora and Sampath Ram in significant roles. Apart from this, he also has Venu Udugula's Virata Pravam, Guna Sekhar's Hiranya Kashyapa and Sathyasiva's Tamil-Telugu film 1945 in his kitty.
