Rana Daggubati shares playful banter with Samantha; jokes she went from ‘Sister-in-Law to Sister’

Rana Daggubati and Samantha Ruth Prabhu have a strong bond despite their former familial ties, even after Samantha's divorce from Rana's cousin, Naga Chaitanya. Their relationship was recently seen during an award ceremony where they shared whimsical banter.

At the event, Samantha received a special award, and Rana joined her on stage to celebrate her achievement. In a light-hearted moment, he joked about Samantha’s journey from being his sister-in-law to now being like a sister. He humorously also mentions, "Samantha went from Tollywood to Hollywood. Went from my sister-in-law to sister". Rana further recalled a lovely childhood memory about the actress and went on to state how he used to call her Samantha 'Ruthless' Prabhu. He playfully questioned where the fun-loving, comedic side of Samantha had gone, to which she responded that both her humorous and controversial sides had "gone to sleep," suggesting she has matured over the years.

Though there is a lot of change in the dynamics due to Samantha separating from Naga Chaitanya, she still is close to him. This relationship seems particularly strong given the news about Naga Chaitanya getting engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala has apparently created a minor conflict between the Akkineni and Daggubati families. Importantly, both members of the family do not seem to follow Sobhita on the respective social networking sites, implying some level of disapproval against this new relationship.

On the work front, Rana was last seen in the Tamil film 'Vettaiyan', while Samantha is set to appear in the upcoming web series 'Citadel: Honey Bunny'.
