Ramya Krishnan is playing a pivotal role in
Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film with maverick filmmaker Puri Jagannadh. Tentatively titled as
Fighter

Ananya Panday as the leading lady and the Hindi version of the film is presented by
Karan Johar through his Dharma Productions.
During an interaction with IANS, Ramya Krishnan revealed some interesting details regarding the project and expressed her excitement to feature in it. Without revealing much about the plot or her role, she said “It is co-produced by Karan Johar. Puri Jagannadh is the director. That is going to be another...almost a ''Baahubali'' for sure”
On the status of the film, she added “Almost 50 per cent of the shoot is done. We will resume after the quarantine phase.”
When asked about her absence from Bollywood despite starring in big-ticket films like ‘Khal Nayak’ and ‘Criminal’, Ramya said “I didn't take a break. Basically, my films didn't do well and I didn't take any interest in the offers (that were coming her way). Meanwhile, I was doing very well for myself in South Indian film.”
Opening up on her Sivagami role in Baahubali, the 59-year-old said “She (Sivagami) was an unbelievably strong character. I would say it is one of the best characters of my career.” She also bagged immense fame for her portrayal of J. Jayalalithaa in Gautham Menon’s web-series Queen.
Recently, few alcohol bottles and a large quantity of beer has been seized by Tamil Nadu police from Ramya Krishnan’s car (SUV) during a routine toll plaza check on East Coast Road in Chennai. While the liquor bottles were confiscated, the driver was arrested and later released on bail.
