Ram Gopal Varma, shared that he is willing to cast controversial Tollywood heroine,
Sri Reddy if there’s a suitable role for her. The actress has stirred a fresh controversy in
Tollywood film industry by stating that casting couch is very much a reality in the industry. He added that Sri Reddy’s efforts to expose sexual harassment helped to put the spotlight on the issue.
Varma was one of the first Tollywood filmmakers to support the actress. Sri Reddy created an uproar in film industry when she staged a naked protest in front of the
Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce in Hyderabad.
Terming her protest as a major victory, Varma said, the industry was forced to form a Committee Against Sexual Harassment to address casting couch. Sri Reddy entered into a verbal duel with Tollywood star,
Pawan Kalyan for his suggestion to seek the help of police instead of approaching the media on casting couch.
