The political thriller 'Game Changer', starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani has found itself in a controversy after a group of background actors from the film has filed a police complaint alleging that they were not paid for their work on the film.
As per a report by Telugu Scribe, this issue involves approximately 350 extras from Guntur and Vijayawada who claim they were promised Rs 1,200 each for their participation in the movie's shoot.
The extras traveled to Hyderabad for filming after being assured of payment by co-director Swargam Shiva. However, they allege that they have yet to receive their dues, leading them to file a complaint at a Guntur police station. The artists accuse Shiva of cheating them and are demanding action against him. They also urge the film's higher authorities, including Shankar and Raju, to address the matter.
Neither the production house nor the film's representatives have issued an official statement regarding the allegations.
'Game Changer' directed by S. Shankar, featuring Ram Charan as an IAS officer determined to clean up corruption in electoral politics. The film boasts a talented cast, including SJ Suryah, Anjali, Srikanth, Sunil, Jayaram, and Samuthirakani.
The movie, released on January 10, 2025, was expected to be a blockbuster, but it has struggled at the box office, leading to disappointing collections. Initially, 'Game Changer' opened strong with Rs 51 crore on its first day in India, but subsequent days saw significant drops in revenue. Despite its impressive budget of over Rs 400 crore, the film's box office performance was modest, earning Rs 131.17 crore net in India and Rs 186.25 crore gross worldwide.
