Raja Chembolu gets engaged to Hima Bindu in a low-key ceremony

It’s the season of love and betrothals in Tollywood and the latest to join the list of celebrities to find their life-partner amid the pandemic is actor Raja Chembolu, who got engaged Bommakanti Hima Bindu on Saturday.

Son of popular lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, Raja has acted in films like Fidaa, Antariksham and Mr Majnu. “It’s going to be an arranged marriage. The alliance was fixed by family friends. I’ve known Bindu only for a couple of months now but she’s already bowled me over. I just love the person she is,” says the newly-engaged actor.

The engagement, which took place at a city hotel, was a low-key affair with just immediate family in attendance. Raja kept things simple, dressed in a white kurta paired with a yellow dhoti, while Bindu sported a matching yellow and lilac-coloured saree. “Only twelve members from my family and ten from hers were present. It’s sad because I want to share this happy occasion with all my friends. But we’re living in unprecedented times so there’s not much we can do ,” says Raja.

The couple are set to tie the knot this October and Raja is hopeful that the Covid-19 situation improves by then. “It’s a special occasion and we want to celebrate with all our loved ones. I hope things get better by October so we can have the wedding we always dreamt of,” he adds.
