Raai Laxmi to play a cop in her next film

Southern beauty Raai Laxmi is all set for her cop avatar in an upcoming Tollywood movie. The multilingual project will be helmed by Nandi award winner Karri Balaji, say reports. The actress was seen last in Julie 2.



The untitled film will be based on real life incidents, added reports. The movie will highlight some serious social issues like rape and honour killing and the story will be narrated from a cop’s point of view. Raai Laxmi’s role will be very similar to what

Rani Mukherjee

had done in

Mardaanni

. The actress added that she is elated about the role. Reportedly she will essay the role of an undercover investigation officer.



Raai Laxmi shared that earlier she had rejected many offers to do cop roles, as she was apprehensive of doing such roles. Actress Anjali will portray a rape victim in the movie.
