‘Pushpa 2’ controversy: White sheets cover Allu Arjun’s residence amid police questioning

The ongoing investigation into the tragic stampede at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre during the screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule has taken another turn, with white sheets being erected at the entrance of actor Allu Arjun’s Jubilee Hills residence.

The move comes amidst mounting tension following violent protests by members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC), who demanded justice for the victim’s family.


On Tuesday, Allu Arjun appeared before Hyderabad police at the Chikkadpally Police Station for questioning about his involvement in the incident that claimed the life of a young mother and left her minor son critically injured.

As obtained exclusively by ETimes, during the session, the police posed direct questions, including: “Were you aware of the theatre situation?” and “Do you have a copy of the permission?” These queries aim to ascertain his awareness of safety measures at the event.

As the controversy deepens, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand presented a video at a Sunday press conference. Compiled from news channels and mobile footage, the video highlighted the chaotic scenes at the theatre and suggested that Allu Arjun remained at the venue until midnight. While the commissioner refrained from commenting on the video’s implications, he invited the media to interpret the evidence.

Adding to the tensions, Sunday’s protests outside the actor’s residence turned violent. OU-JAC members threw tomatoes and caused property damage, leading to the arrest of six individuals who were later released on bail.
