‘Pushpa 2’ actor Allu Arjun faces police probe in stampede case; Crime scene to be recreated at Sandhya Theatre

Tollywood star Allu Arjun is at the center of an intense investigation following the tragic stampede during the screening of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre. The December 4 incident claimed the life of a young mother and left her minor son critically injured. To further probe the circumstances, Hyderabad police plan to recreate the crime scene at the theatre.

The actor appeared at the Chikkadpally Police Station on Tuesday, where he was questioned about his knowledge of the events. Our sources exclusively reveal that there is a plan to recreate the crime scene which aims to verify key details, including crowd control measures and the sequence of events on that fateful night.

Exclusive sources from ETimes also revealed that the police asked Allu Arjun, “Were you aware of the theatre situation?” and “Do you have a copy of the permission?” These questions seek to determine his awareness of the safety measures in place during the screening.

The controversy deepened after violent protests erupted outside Allu Arjun’s residence on Sunday. Members of the Osmania University - Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC) staged demonstrations demanding justice for the victim’s family, throwing tomatoes and causing property damage. Six protesters were arrested but released on bail.

At a press conference held on Sunday, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand presented a video compiling footage from news channels and mobile phones. The video purportedly shows the situation inside the theatre and suggests that the actor remained at the venue until midnight. While Anand refrained from commenting directly, he invited the media to draw its own conclusions.

A police official outlined the sequence of events that led to the tragedy. According to his statement, officers informed Allu Arjun’s management about the death of the woman and the escalating chaos, but they were allegedly denied access to meet the actor.

Allu Arjun has cooperated with the investigation but remains under scrutiny as authorities work to unravel the factors leading to the stampede and its aftermath.
