He wrote on Twitter, “Thanks to each n everyone for continuously showering your love towards Pokiri . Can’t believe it’s been 14 years already ...Cheers to all POKIRI LOVERS” (sic) Mahesh Babu who played an undercover cop in the movie went on to become famous nationally after Pokiri. The film was later remade in Hindi as Wanted starring Salman Khan. It was also remade in the Tamil film industry with Vijay playing the lead role. It was the only movie at the time to be screened for all four shows for 1000 days in a single theatre. Fans have celebrated the film’s 14 years by congratulating the actor and director with the trending #14YearsforSouthPokiri.
