For the past few months, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding RRR's Naatu Naatu. The song reached new heights of popularity when it was performed live at the 2023 Oscars by Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj. It was initially planned for Jr NTR and Ram Charan to perform the song on the prestigious stage, but they withdrew from the performance for various reasons.

'RRR' received an Oscar in the category of Best Original Song for "Naatu Naatu", making it the first Indian film to attain this distinction in that particular category.

Although Naatu Naatu's live performance was a memorable moment at the 2023 Oscars, it appears that fans were disappointed by the absence of Jr NTR and Ram Charan's performances. Reports suggest that the two actors had been scheduled to perform at the event but ultimately decided not to participate.

According to the producer Raj Kapoor, the two stars expressed discomfort in performing the popular dance routine on stage during the Academy performance. Kapoor mentioned that the initial plan was for the two leads to feature in the number with singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. The Academy show played a crucial role in obtaining work visas for the performers' team to come to the United States for the performance.

He added that in late February, they received information that Ram Charan and Jr NTR. would attend the Oscars, but they were not comfortable performing live on stage. This change occurred due to their other professional commitments and the limited time available for rehearsal.

Raj Kapoor explained that the original performance had undergone a two-month workshop and rehearsal period before being filmed over 15 days. For the "Naatu Naatu" performance at the Oscars, professional dancers in Los Angeles had rehearsed for a total of 18 hours, and one 90-minute camera blocking session was held.

For several years now, the Academy has had a close association with producer Raj Kapoor, who was born in New Delhi but raised in Canada. Recently, he collaborated with the creative team of RRR to bring a live performance of the song "Naatu Naatu" to life, featuring singers Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj.

Team 'RRR', consisting of SS Rajamouli, his wife Rama Rajamouli, Ram Charan and his wife Upasana, Jr NTR, MM Keeravaani and his wife Sri Valli, lyricist Chandrabose, choreographer Prem Rakshith, and SS Karthikeya and his wife, made a grand appearance at Oscars 2023. Additionally, Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj enthralled the audience with their performance of "Naatu Naatu," accompanied by dancers from Los Angeles.
