The upcoming Telugu film Kannappa has created a lot of buzz after the first look poster of the film was launched a couple of days back. Touted to be an epic religious film, the movie stars Vishnu Manchu in the lead role and now actress Preity Mukhundhan joins the cast as the female lead. The film for the movie is composed by Stephern Devassy and Mani Sharma.
According to media reports, the filmmakers after a long search agreed to cast Preity Mukkundhan in the film. Kannappa is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film is a fantasy drama based on the mythological story of Shiva devotee, Kannappa. The film is written by Vishnu Manchu and he will playing the lead role as well. Speaking about the actress, director Mukesh reportedly stated that the film marks the initial steps into the film industry and said that the actress emerged as their perfect choice as she comes with a dance background as well.
Kannappa was launched in August this year and it went on floors in September. The shooting for the film is happening in New Zealand and it is expected to soon move into post production. The movie is shot in Telugu and it will be dubbed in other Indian languages as well.
Apart from Vishnu Manchu and Preity Mukhundhan, the film stars Mohanlal in a cameo appearance and actor Prabhas will appear as Lord Shiva. The cast includes Mohan Babu, Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam, Madhoo and Aishwaryaa Bhaskaran. The movie is slated for a release in 2024.
