In a stunning blend of mythology and modern superhero touch, 'Hanu Man', the latest cinematic sensation, has taken the box office by storm since its much-anticipated release in 2024. Directed by the inventive Prashanth Varma, this movie represents a unique blend of story that is deeply rooted in Indian mythology and superhero which is a great formula for an entertainer.

Varma spoke about how he remained calm once the film was finished, trusting in the power of his work instead of giving in to post-release panic.
He added that when compared to other superhero movies, referencing Western media, such as Marvel or DC Comics, 'Hanu Man' is a homegrown character with strong ties to Indian mythology and culture. Hanuman Ji, an Indian mythological figure who represents bravery, power, and devotion, served as inspiration for Varma, who aimed to develop a superhero that would appeal to Indian audiences and storytelling.
Beyond 'Hanu Man', Varma disclosed his grand ideas for the Prashanth Varma Cinematic Universe, demonstrating the extent of this cultural approach. The box office success of 'Hanu Man' has opened doors for such films as 'Adhira,' indicating the start of a new chapter in Indian superhero history where multiple characters from Indian mythology are brought together.
Regarding similarities with other superhero movies such as 'Sri Anjaneyam', Varma highlighted that 'Hanu Man' is distinct due to its cultural origins and story style. He clarified that the movie's feelings, melodies, and particularly the Indian storytelling components rather than just a superhero story.
He also praised the lead actor Teja Sajja's amazing change from a modern, urbane figure in 'Zombie Reddy' to the firm, natural persona of 'Hanu Man', stating that it was crucial to the success of the movie.

Later on, when he was asked about the reasons for the movie's postponed release, Varma frankly acknowledged his lack of previous experience with VFX-heavy productions. This, together with the growing anticipation and hype for the movie, led to an intentional pause to make sure the finished product fulfilled its enormous potential.
The fact that 'Hanu Man' is a successful film across many regions highlights the appealing nature of an Indian superhero. The director too recognised that the film was well received in the country's northern regions.
