Not too long ago,
Pragya Jaiswal was on her way to become a lawyer, but destiny had other plans for her. Born and brought up in Jabalpur, she enrolled herself in a law school in Pune and all seemed to be going fine until she got infatuated with glamour and glitz.
I used to take part in dance competitions in almost all the college festivals and thats when someone suggested that I take part in beauty pageants.
I never thought I was pretty, until plenty of people reminded me that I would make it big as a model. So, before I took the plunge in modelling, I completed my studies and later, I went on to take part in Miss India beauty pageant, Pragya recalls, adding, It was a great opportunity and it boosted my confidence.
Soon after graduating from college, she moved to Mumbai to join a law firm; however, the joining date got delayed which led her to do a series of ad campaigns for big brands. My parents were okay with me pursuing what I was really interested in. The thing with modelling or acting is, nothing works out if you dont take it up seriously. You have to keep honing your skills no matter what happens, she says.
In Telugu, shell soon be seen in a romantic comedy, Mirchi Laanti Kurrodu in which shes paired up with Abhijeet Duddala. Its a love story which is set in a college. I play the role of a girl who is sweet and sensitive whereas the boy is aggressive and crazy. I have been shooting in Hyderabad for quite sometime and I have totally fallen in love with the city. The people are so warm and everything feels so familiar, Pragya reveals.
Ask her what she would do, if not for acting and pat comes the reply, Theres so much to learn in life, but at this moment, I cant think about anything other than movies. I have just got started and its going to be a long road ahead for me.Apart from the Telugu film, I have also signed an international film and well begin shooting the film soon.
