Telugu filmmaker Nag Ashwin’s highly anticipated biopic on the legendary South actress Savitri titled ‘Mahanati’ has opened to extremely positive responses from critics and audiences alike. Ever since its release, the film has been getting a lot of appreciation from celebrities. As per the latest buzz, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has felicitated actress Keerthy Suresh and ‘Mahanati’ team for the glowing success of the film.The pictures, posted by makers on Twitter, have gone viral on social media.

Savitri's daughter Vijaya Chamundeswari was along seen along with the team. Recently, the film landed in a controversy after Dr Kamala Selvaraj, daughter of Gemini slammed the makers for depicting her father in a poor light. The film has simultaneously released in Tamil as ‘Nadigaiyar Thilagam’.
Starring Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salmaan as Savitri and Gemini Ganesan respectively, ‘Mahanati’ also stars Samantha Akkineni, Vijay Deverakonda, Prakash Raj and Mohan Babu in important roles. Produced by Vijayashanthi Movies, the film has music by Mickey J Meyer. The film has been doing good business at the worldwide box office.
