Daughter of renowned Bollywood cinematographer KU Mohanan, Malavika is playing the leading lady in the upcoming Tamil film ‘Master’ starring Thalapathy Vijay as the protagonist and Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has high-octane action sequences involving the bold beauty and she underwent rigorous training in mixed martial arts and parkour for her role.

In mid-2019, Malavika Mohanan was finalised as the female lead opposite Vijay Deverakonda in ‘Hero’, her Tollywood debut. Helmed by writer-turned-director Anand Annamalai, the shooting of the sports-drama proceeded for quite a few days. However, it was apparently shelved. Sources claim that a difference of opinion between the protagonist and the director has led the production house scraping the project.
