Controversy surrounding Janhvi Kapoor's role
Several viewers criticized certain scenes involving Janhvi Kapoor's character and accused the film of objectifying the female lead.
As criticism intensified, director Buchi Babu Sana responded publicly and confirmed that corrective measures had been implemented.
Speaking to SCREEN, he said, “In this process, a few shots turned misleading. We have taken corrective measures to remove them, and we have removed them.” The filmmakers subsequently edited the scenes in question following the backlash.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, 'Peddi' features Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The supporting cast includes Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani. The film's music has been composed by AR Rahman.
