Powerstar Pawan Kalyan congratulated all the Tollywood films that bagged National Awards. The 67th National Film Awards were announced on Monday, in which Nani and Shraddha Srinath-starrer Jersey and
Mahesh Babu and Pooja Hegde-starrer Maharshi won two awards each.
Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan put out a congratulatory statement lauding both teams. "I am very happy about the achievements of our Tollywood films.
I heartfully congratulate Maharshi director
Vamshi Paidipally and actor Mahesh Babu. I feel happy for
Raju Sundaram for bagging an award. Also, I extend my wishes to Jersey team and editor Naveen Nooli for winning the award. I hope these movies inspire the filmmakers to make great movies in near future (sic)," Pawan tweeted.
Gowtham Tinnanuri’s Jersey won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu. Jersey’s editor Naveen Nooli also won a National Award for Best Editing. He earlier worked in films like Allu Arjun’s S/o Satyamurthy and Jr. NTR’s Nannaku Prematho
Maharshi won the National Award in the category of Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, while the film's choreographer Raju Sundaram won the award for Best Choreographer. Sundaram had previously won the National Award in the same category for the Jr NTR and Samantha-starrer Janatha Garage, which released in 2016.
