'Pandem Kodi 2' preview: Vishal's landmark 25th film has high expectations pinned on it

Vishal and Keerthy Suresh starrer ‘Pandem Kodi 2’, the Telugu dubbed version of Tamil film ‘Sandakozhi 2’ releases on October 18 for Dussehra, along with Ram Pothineni and Anupama Parameswaran’s ‘Hello Guru Prema Kosame’.
The film that recently received its U/A certification is directed by Linguswamy and has reportedly done a pre-release business of whopping Rs 65 Cr. The film being Vishal’s 25th film has high expectations pinned on it for being the sequel of his previous hit ‘

’. The advance bookings for the film though have reportedly begun on a low-key note in the Telugu states and Tamil Nadu also.

However, Vishal has called the film ‘biggest of his career’ as apart from being his landmark film, it will also hit more than 1000 screens come Friday. Heaping praise on the director, the actor had reportedly once said, “He completed the film in a very short span of time. Keerthy and Varalakshmi are a major draw for the audience in the film. After watching the climax, the audience cannot help but talk about Varalakshmi’s performance.”

Interestingly, Varalakshmi will be playing the powerful antagonist in the film and judging by the trailer, she seemed to have nailed her role. The film will however see a similar setup to the 2005 hit film, taking place in rural Tamil Nadu. The film will show how nothing has changed in the 13 years, be it in the village or the people who inhabit it.
The action sequences in the film have been choreographed by Ram-Laxman, the same duo who worked for Sukumar and Ram Charan’s resounding hit ‘Rangasthalam’ and Trivikram and Jr NTR’s ‘Aravindha Sametha’ more recently. The music by Yuvan Shankar Raja has reportedly been received well in Tamil Nadu. Raj Kiran who played Vishal’s father in the first part will be seen essaying the role again.
