‘Padman’ actress Harshada Patil talks about her long-delayed Telugu film ‘Maitrivanam’

Harshada Patil shot to fame by playing the leading lady’s role in the 2017 Marathi film Shoor Aamhi Sardaar. Her solid performance in her debut film has earned her an opportunity to work with Akshay Kumar and director R Balki in the 2018 social-drama ‘Padman’. After the release of the Bollywood film, she was flooded with noted opportunities from regional cinema as well.
During 2018 itself, Harshada Patil has signed her maiden Telugu film titled ‘Maitrivanam’. The shooting of the Santosh Gaikwad directorial has been wrapped up a long time ago; however, the release date has been pushed due to unknown reasons. Besides the debutante, the film features Vishwa, Kishore and Vrushali in lead roles. It is expected to hit the theaters in the late part of 2020.
Talking about her role in the film, Harshada said “The name of the film itself suggests that it is about friendship. The story revolves around two couples where two friends are trying to invent a battery which lasts for 4 years without charging. I'm playing the lead role of a girlfriend along with the other female actress who supports and motivates them to achieve their goal.”
She also added “Since it is my debut movie, my co-stars helped to understand Telugu between the shots. It was great working with Vishwa and other co-stars.”
To pursue her passion for acting, Harshada Patil left her job as an air hostess at an international airline and stepped foot into films. She already featured in a Hindi, Marathi and a Punjabi film. Besides Maitrivanam, she has a Tamil project in the pipeline.
