Padi Padi Leche Manasu movie review highlights: A watchable first hour
Padi Padi Leche Manasu starring impressive performers like Sharwanand, Sai Pallavi in lead roles is a love story set in Kolkata and parts of Kathmandu. The story in this idyllic backdrop unfolds between a wastrel Surya and a medical student Vaishali, who meet in the most unlikely circumstances and nurture their relationship. Surya hides his true identity in front of Vaishali and what ensues is a comedy of errors that keeps audiences glued to the screens.
The film comes with an oft told premise, a guy wooing a girl repeatedly, keeps stalking her in the name of love, the girl gradually falling for him, the romance blossoming and an inevitable conflict. But the gift of Hanu Raghavapudi as a storyteller is his ability to make all of this feel believable, poetic and humourous at the same time. And when you have a lead pair that's as capable as Sharwanand and Sai Pallavi, they make you look at a film beyond its all possible flaws.
Besides Sharwanand's passion for football, the director doesn't bother to establish the profession of the character. Sometimes, he insulates the proceedings from logic merely to retain the feel-good nature of the story. However, strong performances, the life like humour infuse life into the narrative. This isn't an epic love story by means but remains a very watchable film in its pre- intermission portions. The first half ends on a dramatic note keeping spectators curious enough.
